Summary: We were doing all of this fancy filtering and sorting to determine which tasks to run, but in the end, we were just running the whole unsorted list (using the wrong variable) Also extracted getting the list of tasks into its own function, for easier unit tests (it should really have some) And, also wanted to make sure other people looked at this code, since I believe no one has before.
